The Georgian Terrace Hotel wears a distinct white terra-cotta facade styled after a Parisian resort. When it opened in nineteen eleven, this stretch of Peachtree Street sat at the edge of the city, and the hotel served as a social anchor for the wealthy families moving north. Most famously, it hosted the gala for the premiere of Gone with the Wind in nineteen thirty-nine. Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh stayed here, and the ballroom filled with stars while thousands of people crowded the sidewalks outside.
