Damrosch Park

Damrosch Park is named in honor of the Damrosch family, a dynasty of musicians who fundamentally shaped the musical landscape of New York City beginning in the late nineteenth century. The patriarch, Leopold Damrosch, immigrated to the city in 1871 and went on to found the Oratorio Society of New York and the New York Symphony Society. The park serves as a tribute to their enduring legacy, sitting at the southwest corner of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts complex.
