Greetings from New York LIC Mural

This mural is part of a nationwide project conceived by artist Victor Ving and photographer Lisa Beggs, who set out to turn blank walls into modern, vibrant versions of vintage postcards. The project began as a personal farewell to New York City in 2014, when the duo painted an initial piece on their own rooftop in Chinatown to mark the start of their journey. The pair eventually traded their stationary lives in New York for an recreational vehicle, traveling across the United States to paint these large, letter-based murals in dozens of different cities. They intentionally use a classic, bold postcard style to capture the unique identity and landmarks of each local community they visit. What started as a spontaneous creative experiment grew into a signature series that serves as both a tourist destination and a source of local pride. The artists often research the specific history and culture of the area before they begin, ensuring each mural acts as a visual love letter to the people who live there.
