Prodigy Mural

The mural you are approaching celebrates the hip-hop duo Mobb Deep and the thirtieth anniversary of their seminal album, The Infamous. This large-scale public artwork was unveiled in April 2025 and pays tribute to the legendary rappers Prodigy and Havoc. The design draws inspiration from a classic photograph by Chi Modu, capturing the duo's iconic presence in Queens. The artwork was created by a team of Queens-born artists led by Eli Lazare Salome-Diaz. It stands as a deliberate effort to reconnect the local community through visual storytelling and to honor the deep cultural roots of the neighborhood. This project reflects a long-standing desire to celebrate the music that shaped the area's identity.
