The building you are approaching began its life in nineteen eighteen as a repair facility for locomotives and trolley cars. Although it was built to service the transit system, it never actually functioned as a trolley depot. Instead, throughout the nineteen forties, the industrial space was used to manufacture and assemble heavy construction equipment like derricks and hoists. You can still see the original industrial signage on the facade, a relic of its years as a powerhouse of metalwork and machinery.
