Ravenswood Generating Station

The massive industrial facility looming over the East River is the Ravenswood Generating Station. It has been a cornerstone of the city power grid since opening in nineteen sixty-three. The plant covers twenty-eight acres and remains the largest power generator within New York City, capable of providing over twenty percent of the city's total electricity. You can recognize the site by its four tall red and white smokestacks, which have remained a fixture of the Queens skyline for decades.
