Costanera iguazu

historic

The Costanera Iguazu marks the edge where the town of Puerto Iguazú meets the confluence of the Iguazú and Paraná rivers. It is a wide, paved promenade that stretches along the steep riverbank, lined with iron railings that look out toward the dense greenery of Brazil and Paraguay. Before this waterfront road existed, this was a tangle of wild jungle and rugged cliffs. Local residents once navigated the steep mud paths to reach the river to trade goods or wash clothes.
