Intendencia del Parque Nacional Iguazú

The Intendencia building in Puerto Iguazú holds a heavy, distinct presence with its dark wooden timbers, steep gabled roof, and deep, shaded verandas. Built in nineteen thirty-four, this structure served as the administrative heart for the newly formed national park. Its design mimics the Alpine aesthetic favored by Alejandro Bustillo, the architect who defined much of the region’s early official style. A massive stone fireplace remains in the main hall, once the only source of warmth for the park’s first wardens.
