The Ravenstein Gallery stands out with its vaulted glass ceiling and elegant nineteen-fifties modernist frame. Built between nineteen fifty-four and nineteen fifty-eight, it carved a covered pedestrian path through an existing block to connect the central train station to the upper city. Architect Alexis Dumont designed it to feel like a light, airy indoor street. When the gallery opened, its sleek aesthetic signaled a new era for Brussels architecture, replacing older, darker corridors with this bright, steel-ribbed passage.
