Musical Instruments Museum

The Musical Instruments Museum anchors the corner of the Montagne de la Cour with an unmistakable canopy of swirling, forest green ironwork. This Art Nouveau masterpiece was originally the Old England department store, designed by Paul Saintenoy in eighteen ninety-nine. It stands as a skeleton of steel and glass, built to maximize natural light for shoppers viewing fabrics. Today, that same light spills over eight thousand instruments, including the original collection of King Leopold the second, who supported the museum's early acquisition efforts.
