European Parliament

The European Parliament building features a massive, curved glass facade that faces the Place du Luxembourg. It houses the debating chamber where hundreds of elected representatives from across the continent meet to vote on legislation. Before this concrete and steel complex arrived, the Leopold Quarter was a neighborhood of quiet nineteenth-century townhouses. Construction began in the late nineteen eighties, forcing the demolition of several residential blocks and a historic train station to make space for the assembly.
