18 Rue du Pâquier

The building at eighteen Rue du Pâquier features a distinct, weathered stone facade that stands apart from the newer glass structures nearby. In the early nineteenth century, this street served as the main artery for merchants entering the city walls. A local merchant once operated a dry goods shop on this ground floor, stacking bolts of silk and velvet against these very walls. He kept a ledger of debts owed by the local count, recorded meticulously in cramped, dark ink until the shop finally closed.
