The corner of the building on the corner of the rue de la Filaterie holds a painted iron sign featuring a golden rooster. This spot functioned for years as the shop of the Pauvert family, local printers who set the type for much of the city's legal and official documents throughout the nineteenth century. Inside, the rhythmic clatter of presses filled the space while the family lived in the rooms just above the shop floor, keeping their work within reach at every hour.
