The Place Mireille Havet is a small triangular public square where the Rue de la Folie Mericourt meets the Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud. It is named for the French writer Mireille Havet, who kept a detailed journal throughout the nineteen twenties, recording the bohemian nightlife of Montparnasse and her own struggles with drug addiction. She died in a sanatorium at age thirty-three, leaving behind manuscripts that were published decades later. The square offers a quiet patch of trees amidst the busy eleventh arrondissement.
