RueWATT Fabrique Artistique / 2r2c

RueWATT is a specialized artistic facility designed specifically for circus performers and street artists. It opened in April 2023 as the permanent home for the cooperative known as De Rue et De Cirque, or 2r2c. Before this site was established, the cooperative spent nearly two decades organizing public performances and searching for a space that could accommodate the unique physical requirements of their trade. The building provides five hundred square meters of workspace, including two high-ceilinged studios that reach eight meters. This height is essential for artists who practice aerial arts, suspension, and other disciplines that require significant vertical clearance. The space serves as a dedicated laboratory where performers can research, train, and develop new works away from the elements. Beyond serving professionals, the facility functions as a bridge between the artistic world and the local neighborhood. It features separate areas for amateur practice, encouraging interaction between the public and working artists. The cooperative intentionally chose this location in the thirteenth arrondissement, an area with a high density of residents and students, to ensure that their work remains accessible and integrated into the daily life of the city.
