The church of Sainte-Jeanne-d’Arc is identifiable by the tall, unadorned concrete bell tower that rises abruptly above the surrounding apartment buildings on the Rue de la Chapelle. Completed in nineteen thirty-three, the structure sits directly against the original nineteen-twenties chapel, which now functions as a secondary hall. The architect, Georges Closson, used reinforced concrete to create a clean, vertical profile that echoes the industrial spirit of the nearby railway tracks. It serves the local parish as a house of worship today.
