Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil

The Jardin des Serres d'Auteuil began as a royal project in 1761 under King Louis the fifteenth, who originally commissioned a garden here to protect climate-sensitive plants. While the site is now celebrated for its nineteenth-century glass architecture, those early botanical origins established the space as a nursery for the crown. Today, it remains one of the four official botanical gardens maintained by the city of Paris, serving as a living laboratory that continues to supply many of the plants used to decorate municipal buildings throughout the capital.
