Square of Chad

landmark

The Square of Chad, located in the sixteenth arrondissement, has served as a neighborhood green space since its creation in nineteen seventy-eight. It occupies a unique structural position, as the entire park is built on a concrete slab that sits directly atop an underground supermarket. The square is planted with flowering cherry trees, which provide a canopy for the students from the nearby Jean de la Fontaine and Claude Bernard high schools. These students frequently gather here during the day to use the sports facilities, which include both a basketball court and a football area. While it borders the busy boulevard périphérique, the park remains a quiet, accessible spot for local residents and visitors to spend time outdoors.
