Le Funambule

cultural

You are standing near the Le Funambule theater on the Rue des Saules, a narrow street in the heart of Montmartre. This venue opened in nineteen eighty-eight, originally operating as a restaurant and bar before transitioning into a space dedicated to live performance. It transformed from an informal spot where locals and curious visitors would gather for sketches and short plays into a recognized center for contemporary creation. In two thousand six, actors Sandra Everro and Julien Heteau took over the direction of the theater. They redesigned the space in two thousand sixteen, expanding the stage and installing new seating for one hundred and twenty people to better accommodate the diverse range of productions they host.
