Square Marcel Pagnol sits tucked between apartment buildings, identifiable by the tall, narrow iron gate that opens into a quiet, tree-lined gravel courtyard. The space honors the writer Marcel Pagnol, who drew much of his inspiration from the everyday life of ordinary people. Before this became a public garden, the plot housed a series of small workshops and stables. Residents of the neighborhood eventually fought for a green space, successfully transforming the former industrial site into this neighborhood corner.
