The Accor Arena presents as a jagged pyramid covered in steep, sloping lawns that blend into the Parisian sky. Completed in nineteen eighty-four, the structure occupies the site of the former Bercy wine warehouses. Architect Jean-Prouve influenced the design, which replaced a chaotic industrial landscape with a sharp, geometric frame for massive indoor events. Its grassy exterior walls allow the building to shed its massive scale, sitting quietly against the neighborhood while containing a bowl that seats twenty thousand people inside.
