The building you are approaching, known as Le Transfo, once served a strictly industrial purpose as an electrical transformer station that powered the Parisian metro system. Its red brick façade, built in the distinct style of the Eiffel era, was abandoned before finding a second life as a center for social and artistic exchange. In twenty eleven, it was rehabilitated to house an emergency shelter for people experiencing homelessness, marking a transition from fueling the city's transport to fueling its social resilience.
