You are arriving at a space that broke a long-standing Parisian tradition. Public squares in the city are usually named only after someone who has been dead for at least five years, but the city council created an exception for this location. They inaugurated the Place du professeur Muhammad Yunus in July 2024, honoring the Nobel Peace Prize-winning economist while he was still active.
