The Embassy of Canada features a glass facade that reflects the surrounding Parisian rooftops and the dome of the nearby church. This building sits on the site of the former Hotel de Callière, which once hosted diplomatic gatherings. Architect Raymond Moriyama designed the structure in the nineteen eighties to blend modern transparency with the traditional scale of the neighborhood. During the excavation, workers unearthed stone remnants from the seventeenth century that now rest in a quiet display inside the building lobby.
