Square Marcel-Mouloudji

park garden

This square is a green sanctuary created in 1986 during the major urban redevelopment of the nearby Bassin de la Villette. Landscape architect Jean Camand designed the space to provide a sense of quiet refuge within the busy 19th arrondissement, filling it with maple and plane trees alongside rose and laurel bushes. The park takes its name from Marcel Mouloudji, a French singer and actor born in Paris in 1922 who was widely celebrated for his poetic, often politically engaged songs and his roles in classic French cinema.
