Guinguette de la Dhuys Garden

The Guinguette de la Dhuys sits where the old Dhuys aqueduct once carried drinking water to Paris from the Marne valley. What remains is a reclaimed stretch of concrete and hillside turned into an urban garden. In the nineteen twenties, a guinguette stood here, serving cheap wine and food to laborers who walked out from the city for Sunday dances. After the dance hall burned down and the land sat empty for decades, local residents cleared the brambles to start planting.
