Parc Simone Veil

park garden

Parc Simone Veil features a wide, sloping lawn framed by concrete retaining walls that cut sharply into the hillside of Les Bruyeres. Before this park opened in two thousand twenty-one, the space held a sprawling, empty parking lot used by local residents for decades. Architects turned the steep terrain into a terraced garden with fruit trees and gravel paths. Simone Veil, a Holocaust survivor and the first woman to preside over the European Parliament, gave her name to this quiet, public clearing.
