The Rue des Trois Faucons sits at the heart of Avignon, defined by the heavy, arched wooden doors set into stone facades that have survived since the medieval period. This narrow passage gets its name from a local legend involving a nobleman who kept three falcons in a cage along the street during the fourteenth century.
