Cocoa House dominates the West Ridge skyline with its stark, brutalist concrete facade and rows of recessed windows. It serves as the headquarters for the Ghana Cocoa Board, the government agency that manages the entire cocoa industry. When the building opened in the nineteen sixties, it projected the ambition of a young nation banking its future on the global trade of cocoa beans. A fire gutted much of the interior in the nineteen eighties, yet the frame remains a massive, unyielding fixture.
