Gbese Mantse Palace

cultural

The Gbese Mantse Palace sits in the heart of Bukom, marked by its distinctive yellow and white facade and the heavy iron gates that guard the entrance. This is the seat of the Gbese Mantse, one of the original kings of the Ga people in Accra. Inside, the palace serves as the traditional court where local disputes are settled according to Ga custom. King Nii Ayi Bonte the Second holds court here, presiding over the traditional affairs of the Gbese stool.
