Pasha’s Gardens

Pasha’s Gardens sits on a steep slope, marked by a series of concrete structures that look like they are melting into the earth. Built in nineteen oh four by the Ottoman governor Sabri Pasha, the site holds a collection of bizarre, organic shapes crafted from mortar. Legend says the governor designed these forms to serve as a refuge for the city's poor, though local stories frequently link the strange, winding tunnels and stone chairs to occult rituals performed long after the Pasha left Thessaloniki.
