Gupt Dwar

The Gupt Dwar is a low, unassuming arched gateway built of rough-hewn stone, tucked away within the quiet residential blocks of Lodhi Colony. During the construction of New Delhi in the nineteen thirties, engineers discovered this structure buried beneath layers of earth, leading to the belief that it served as a secret entrance to an older, lost settlement. British officials allowed the colonial houses to be built directly over these ancient walls, leaving the archway partially sunken and permanently hidden from public view.
