Trans Lives Matter by Aravani art project

The mural featuring bright, flowing portraits of transgender individuals covers the side of a tall residential block in Lodhi Colony. Artists from the Aravani Art Project painted these faces to occupy public space and demand visibility in a neighborhood better known for its standard government housing. While working on the ladders, the artists invited local residents to pick up brushes and join them, turning the process of creating the art into a conversation about identity that remained on the walls long after the paint dried.
