Goobe's Book Republic sits tucked away with a distinctive floor-to-ceiling wooden ladder that slides across narrow, towering shelves of secondhand books. Ravi Menezes opened this shop in two thousand and three, filling the space with thousands of titles salvaged from personal collections and local sales. He started with a single room and expanded as the stacks crowded the walls. The store keeps no formal catalog, and regulars describe finding their next favorite read by pulling volumes from the dense, floor-level piles.
