Band Stand

The octagonal iron structure of the Sampangi Rama Nagar bandstand stands as a lonely relic of a different city. Built during the late nineteenth century, it served as a stage for British military bands that played for the public in the evenings. While the surrounding streets grew into a dense, bustling district, this ornate pavilion stayed exactly where it was. It once hosted brass ensembles performing waltzes, but today it sits quiet, occasionally serving as a gathering spot for residents in the neighborhood.
