The Biere Club is marked by the tall, black iron gates that open into a white bungalow draped in creeping vines. It holds the distinction of being the first licensed microbrewery in Bengaluru. When it opened in twenty-ten, the city had to rewrite decades-old excise laws to allow a restaurant to brew its own beer on-site. The owners spent years lobbying the state government for this change, eventually turning this quiet residential space into the birthplace of the city's craft beer culture.
