Stephen Court

Stephen Court features an ornate, white-stucco facade topped with a distinctive clock tower that anchors the corner of Park Street. Built in the early twentieth century by Arathoon Stephen, an Armenian hotelier, the building served as a premier residential and commercial address for Kolkata’s colonial elite. The structure became notorious in nineteen ten when a massive fire broke out, followed by a tragic blaze a century later in twenty ten, which claimed several lives and left the upper floors gutted.
