Jahan Nama Garden

park garden

Jahan Nama Garden stretches out behind a high perimeter wall, distinguished by the octagonal brick pavilion at its center. This site served as a royal retreat long before the Zand dynasty formalized its layout in the eighteenth century. Timur the Lame once ordered a similarly named garden built here after he conquered Shiraz, famously finding the local beauty so striking he brought it back to his own capital. Today, the cypress trees surrounding the reflecting pools trace the same geometry that drew those early rulers.
