The Peace On Earth statue is a bronze sculpture of a woman holding a dove, mounted on a granite pedestal near the entrance of a quiet plaza. It was commissioned in nineteen eighty-four to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of a local community organization. The sculptor, a craftsman known for his work in public parks, chose to place the dove at the eye level of a passing child. Neighbors gathered here for the unveiling ceremony, which ended with a performance by a school choir.
