Tezukayama Gallery

museum

Tezukayama Gallery sits behind a wall of glass and concrete that breaks the rhythm of the surrounding neighborhood with a sharp, industrial austerity. The building functions as a dedicated contemporary art space, but it started as a project to house the private collection of a local architect. In the nineteen nineties, the gallery became a hub for artists pushing against the traditional constraints of the Osaka art scene, often hosting installations that spilled out onto the sidewalk or required knocking down interior walls.
