The building at one, Kita, holds onto a distinct aesthetic from the early Showa period, marked by its weathered, dark wood exterior and narrow, traditional latticework. It survived the firebombing of nineteen forty-five, a rare outlier among the leveled houses of the Nakazakicho district. Its owner originally designed the interior for a private residence, keeping the low ceilings and cramped, intimate layout that defined middle-class homes of that era. Today, the structure houses a local cafe where the floorboards still creak underfoot.
