Osaka Umeda Twin Towers South

The Osaka Umeda Twin Towers South rises as a distinct jagged glass wedge above the surrounding low-rise blocks. This building replaced the old Osaka Central Post Office, a site that served the city for over eighty years. When developers cleared the old post office, they preserved the original western facade, incorporating the cream-colored masonry into the sleek, modern tower base. Passersby still see those arched windows framing the entrance, blending the nineteen-twenties aesthetic with the glass-and-steel construction of twenty-nineteen.
