Nakanoshima Rose Garden

The Nakanoshima Rose Garden sits on a long, narrow strip of land wedged between the Dojima and Tosabori rivers. It holds over three thousand rose bushes representing nearly ninety different varieties. In the late eighties, the city transformed this reclaimed riverbank into a public garden to commemorate the centennial of Osaka’s municipal system. The roses bloom twice a year, drawing crowds to the park’s pathways when the flowers fill the air with a heavy, sweet scent that drifts across the water.
