Daibiru Main Building

The Daibiru Main Building features a facade of hand-carved, earth-colored terracotta tiles that mimic the texture and brickwork of its nineteen twenty-five predecessor. When the original structure was demolished, architects salvaged thousands of these tiles to preserve the building’s distinct, warm silhouette. During the demolition, crews found that the internal steel frame remained remarkably sound after decades of service. Today, the building houses private offices, continuing its legacy as a centerpiece for Osaka's business district since the Taisho era.
