Adoratorio de Ehécatl

other

The Adoratorio de Ehécatl is a small, circular stone platform anchored directly into the concrete floor of the Pino Suárez metro station. It was unearthed in nineteen sixty-seven during the station's construction, forcing engineers to integrate the Aztec shrine into the modern transit hub. Dedicated to the god of wind, the structure once stood as part of a larger ceremonial center. Commuters now rush past the ancient base, catching a glimpse of the volcanic rock foundation between train arrivals and departures.
