The Casa de los Azulejos wears a skin of blue and white Puebla tiles that shimmer against the grey stone of its neighbors. This palace served as the home for the Count of the Valley of Orizaba in the eighteenth century. Legend says the Count’s son once squandered the family fortune, and the father dismissed him as a failure who would never build even a house of tiles. The son then commissioned this facade to prove him wrong, covering the entire structure in ceramic.
