Quinta Montes Molina

The Quinta Montes Molina features a distinct white limestone facade topped by a mansard roof and a heavy iron gate that arrived by ship from Europe in nineteen oh two. Don Aurelio Montes Castillo built this house to display his family's success during the height of the henequen boom, when Mérida merchants grew wealthy exporting agave fiber. His descendants still own the property today, keeping the original Carrara marble floors and intricate Venetian glass chandeliers exactly where they were installed a century ago.
