Immeuble Assayag 1930 Marius Boyer

The Immeuble Assayag features a curved facade that wraps around the corner of the intersection like a ship's prow. Architect Marius Boyer designed this building in nineteen thirty to house both commercial offices and residential apartments. While Casablanca expanded rapidly during the early twentieth century, Boyer focused on concrete construction that embraced the Art Deco movement. He included iron balconies and geometric stone carvings on the exterior, leaving the original ornate detailing visible for anyone passing by the intersection today.
