Palais de Justice

The Palais de Justice features a grand, whitewashed facade punctuated by a rhythm of tall, narrow archways that draw from both traditional Moroccan motifs and French colonial design. Built during the nineteen thirties, the building served as the primary courthouse for the protectorate, placing judicial authority in the heart of Casablanca. During the transition to independence, the halls housed marathon sessions where lawyers navigated the sudden legal shift from colonial decrees to a sovereign Moroccan code, often arguing cases under immense public pressure.
