Clock tower

The white, square clock tower in Sidi Belyout rises with a distinct, blocky silhouette that breaks the skyline near the old harbor. Built in nineteen eleven, it served as a reference point for sailors and merchants navigating the growing city. Captain Proby, the officer in charge of the military port at the time, oversaw its construction to keep the harbor running on a strict schedule. It functioned as the primary pulse of the port until the mid-twentieth century when it eventually fell into disrepair.
